The Secretariat announced today the first call for the selection of priority infrastructure projects under the EU Regulation on the guidelines for trans-European energy infrastructure, the “TEN–E Regulation”, adopted by the Energy Community Ministerial Council in 2015. The projects selected will benefit from streamlined permitting processes, improved regulatory conditions, and better access to financial support. The call targets projects in the categories of electricity transmission and storage; gas transmission and storage; oil; and smart grids deployment.

Project promoters are invited to submit their candidate projects no later than 22 February 2016, 18.00 (CET). The candidate projects that meet the general criteria will be assessed according to the procedure laid down in the TEN-E Regulation. The final list will be established by a decision of the Energy Community Ministerial Council before 31 December 2016.
